Make way for 2013

Dear reader,

I has been too long since the last update, too long! :O

Here's a mermaid dance to make it up to you;

"I'm gonna finish him like a cheesecake!" I lol'd so hard at that one. xD

Anyway, I hope 2012 has been nothing but a great year for you. :) I figured since it's the last day of 2012, I might as well do something, like blogging. And being on 9gag. *long sigh* I'm gonna wait until 12am and see if I get to watch the fireworks from up here. :D Should be awesome.

By the way, I got myself a laptop recently and been using it for about 2 weeks now. I've been doing my assignment either on my desktop computer at home during the weekends, or using the computers at the library for the first few months. Susah nak siapkan kerja kalau takde ni. T__T

This particular one is core i5, running windows 8. I personally love using windows 8, not sure why there's so much bashing and complaints from some windows users. :/

On the 21st of December, we had an oath taking ceremony. Had a quick chat with Megat, one of my matriculation friends and took a couple of pictures with some friends but I'm only gonna show one since I look horrible in the remaining pictures.

Meet Yew :) Of course, this was before my shawl decided to go all over the place. Thanks dearest roomate, for lending me your baju batik! :D Apparently it's a once in a lifetime event, so you'll only wear the baju batik once.

I haven't told you about the subjects I'm taking this semester, have I? This semester I'm taking physical chemistry, organic chemistry, cell biology & genetics and anatomy & physiology. My A&P lecturer looks like David Choi the first time I met him. I was like, woah. I wonder if he sings. Hm.

Sir gave me and another two students this shirt for being top 3 students for his anatomy & physiology quiz. He says it's his way to motivate the students. The shirt is pretty comfy oh. I'm wearing it right now.

I guess that would be all for this post. 2012 has been such an unforgettable year for me personally. From matriculation and now doing my degree, it has been a really really good experience for me and hopefully 2013 will be a good year for me and for you as well. :)

Dear reader,

The title is just to brush off the awkward vibe we're having. It's not weird. It's not. It is? Okay, okay. Moving on. :D It has been around three weeks since the last update. I had my finals last Tuesday and I'm currently enjoying my two weeks off! Well, tak sampai two weeks pon actually 'cause I'm going back this Thursday. T_T Other than that, my presentation on Hydrotherapy with Farah was okay. :)

Anyway, after I've finished my last paper, I got home and jot down a few things I wanna do during the break, semangat membara walaupun cuti kejap je.

1. Makan instant noodles. I can't believe this was actually at the top of my list. I guess I was craving for some. So, I made cheese ramyeon.

"Umi : Awak ni pelik pelik tambah cheese kat maggi."

2. Makan jeruk, asam. Kenapa list banyak pasal makanan. *tutup muka* yang ni tak jadi buat. lol

3. Bake. Did this one yesterday. *fist in the air*

4. Make a plushie. This looks so much fun to make, but unfortunately, masa itu limited. Belum sempat buat. Here's a tutorial from Marzia. *brofist*

5. Play the piano. Did this one yesterday. :D I've been wanting to play Clocks by Coldplay, so tutorials from Youtube has got to be the easiest way to learn this. I'm too slow when it comes to reading musical notation. Too. slow. OTL

6. Go out with friends. Tak sempat. Everyone's busy, including me. So many things to do, so little time. :(

Video games and K-Dramas, not even close. Not enough time, but that's okay. :) Anyway, today is my cousin's 8th birthday! Pak su invited my mum and I for a makan makan at his house. I decided to bake some cupcakes for the birthday boy, and decorated 'em this morning.

A quick one

Dear reader,

I've been working on my assignment since this morning. It's almost 12 midnight and I'm still working on it. I. NEED. CAFFEINE. The topic is about immunochemistry analysis. I have to find out about radioimmunoassay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, fluorescnece activated cell sorter, and everything else in between. Tengok ayat macam gempak je kan. Boleh guling guling berbuih mulut nak cari ni. Haa. Okay, serious.

 I just finished my mid semester exam last Friday! :) I did my best and I'm hoping for the best. Nothing much going on, really. Next week, I'm gonna present on "Hydrotherapy" in my complementary and alternative medicine class with my partner Farah in front of the whole class. Looking forward to that. Nak siapkan semua asap so that I can focus on other things. Okay, time to go. Take care! :)

It's the little things

Peace be upon you! :)

I've been MIA for about a month now. Sorry about that. :3 To tell you the truth, I was occupied with so many things and also, I was lazy. Hehe. University life is treating me well so far. It's only been a month so I don't want to expect too much. I've been in this position before when I was in matriculation. So, I'm gonna give myself some time to digest everything and get used to the environment.

So far, this post has been nothing but emo.

My mum and I went to a plant nursery recently to get her some soil for her pokok pokok bunga. I came across pokok kemboja bonsai ni while I was walking around looking at the flowers;

and instantly thought of this;

Hydrangeas. Did you know that the colour of the hydrangea flowers depends on the soil pH? I didn't. My mum told me about it. I thought it was interesting. :)

Last night I attempted to bake Oreo chip muffins, and it was a success! *pats own shoulder* I used both coffee and chocolate chips, they go well together. :) We gave some to the neighbour, pak su and his family.

On a serious note, I just found out that Hajar's dad is hospitalized. I really hope that if you're reading this, please pray for uncle Zainuddin's health. Thank you. :)

Uni life #1

Dear reader,

My blog is getting dusty. *tiup habuk* 

This is going to be a long one. You have been warned! >:D

I'm actually not in Shah Alam right now because my class starts on Thursday, so yes. I'm at home since last Friday. :D Weekends and public holidays are the best! *fist in the air*. In my previous post, I mentioned that I'll post an update on the orientation week as well as other things. So, here it is! :D

On Monday morning, 3rd September. Off to mum's office! :{D

Abah fetched me there around 9 something and we went straight to Shah Alam. The campus is huuuge. :O When we got there, we had to walk all the way to the management tower to register. (Since the university has many towers, jadi dia bahagikan into management, academic and science tower)

This is just half of the people who were there. Panas wor. *fans self* Bila dah tak ramai orang baru rasa sikit aircond dia.

My counselor said the hostel tengah buat so I had to find a place to stay since I'm not yet familiar with the jalan to drive pergi balik. Masa daftar, ada one section kat dalam tu pasal rumah sewa je. Boleh la tengok tengok facilities provided and then make your choice. Abah helped me find a place to stay while waiting for my number to be called for registration.

Abah, not knowing what to do while waiting for the lady to show us the house. We ended up going there without her sebab lama gila oh tunggu dia. :\ But she did give us number orang yang in charge dekat situ.

Well, the house consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and a small area for laundry. I live with my housemates, all seven of them! :D My roommates are J, Salsa and Riff. J was the first one I met when my dad and I got there. Yang lain ada kelas.

September intake students had orientation later that evening. Back in matriculation, we had to wake up at 4 and orientation habis malam. Orientation here starts at 9, balik around 6 o'clock. :D

Ah yes, groupings. My group consists of 10 members? I'm not sure sebab ada yang jarang datang. Anyways, there's a total of 16 groups all together and mine is group number 14. The OC (Organisation committee) gave us a task for us to perform on Friday. My group dapat zapin. T__T Yes, hancus zapin tu aku bedal.

One of the OCs wanted us to come up with a group name yang ada U, ada shape and an animal. At first we decided to go for U Star Fish, but dah kena ambil. T__T. Last last dari mana datangnya U Square Rabbit. Hahah the guys in our group tutup muka. :p

This is what the classroom looks like. This short semester (7 weeks) I'm taking complementary and alternative medicine, and also instrumentation. First day dah dapat assignment. :3

Here we have to meet our mentor to register our subjects for the semester, pergi jumpa admin to do things macam nak apply for exemption, ambil matrix number, ambil ID card, and et cetera. We have to go to the account department to ask questions about anything related to fees, and loans. Ohkay.

So far I've been really picky with tempat makan because sometimes they can be pretty expensive. Kopak lah nanti wuhuhu. T__T I've tried a few places macam U-Cafe (in the campus), Tesco, and kedai kedai makan bawah rumah.

Moving on! :) My mum's friends came over during the weekend. Ummi baked a really yummeh chocolate brownie cake. :9

On Monday, my mum and I went to mak long's open house. We came pretty late so dah tak ramai orang. T___T Oh and it's my first time meeting baby 'Ilmaan.

After that, we went for a quick visit to Damansara to get some letters. Sempat makan lagi dekat warung, beraya lagi dekat rumah Hajar. (That delicious, delicious laksam made by Hajar's mum) Please don't judge me hahaha.

Berhenti for maghrib prayer at Masjid Al-Mukarramah. This is the mosque where I used to do tarawih during the month of Ramadhan with my mum and friends. C:

I think I'm gonna stop here. This Friday ada quiz, so I have some revision to do. :\

Yes, I'm home! Since last night. Orientation week in Shah Alam went well. I found out yesterday that my roommate, no, ex-roommate back in KMPk, Dayah is in the same university as me! And she lives just one floor above me. Talk about coincidence! xD I've made new friends and got to know more about the university during the orientation. :D Oh, ummi made coffee chip cookies today, it was really yummeh. :3 Proper update in my next post! Till then, bye!

'Eid Mubarak

Hello, earthlings!

Selamat Hari Raya! :) I hope you had a great one. I was in Johor for about a week! I wish it was longer though. :( Anyway, we spent our first day of Syawal at home, and then lepas asar baru gerak balik Johor. Pak su (my mum's brother) and his family went straight to Johor after they came over to our house in the morning. :)

We reached mak uda's (my mum's sister) house at night! Sampai terus landing. Eheh. :B All of us together with mak uda's family went to kota tinggi on the next day to visit mak ngah (my mum's other sister) right after we went beraya at pak long's (my mum's brother) house. Hectic? Yes. Sangat.

Dekat rumah mak ngah, my cousins and I played UNO,  balik balik main tipu je dieorang ni. T__T asyik kalah je. Tak nak main lagi ah. >:| We spent the night at mak ngah's house and then my mum, nenek and I balik Batu Pahat balik the next day.

My mum and I went to visit my grandmother's house (on my dad's side) in the morning. Nenek hang out dekat rumah pak long. (My mum's brother) It was good to see my relatives again. Oh, I also met my dad! :) All of us went to pak long's (my dad's brother) house and then terus pergi beraya rumah saudara mara.

Oh! I went to Tika's house to deliver the cookies. Sempat beraya kejap rumah dia. :D Dah jumpa sorang. Kawan kawan matriks yang lain bila nak jumpa pulak? ;p

On the 5th day of raya, my mum and I together with my relatives went to my cousin's (on my mum's side) house to meet the newest addition in the family, baby Azizul Hakim. He is soooo cute. ^O^

My niece is already 3 years old. :O She's very talkative, loves tv commercials and screaming. Make that screaming while running. xD

...and she likes to tell ghost stories. Imagine this adorable little kid telling you cerita pasal momok.

Oh, the horror. :p Tapi seram bila dia cerita. My cousin said that one of Syuhada's (my niece) relatives told her the story, and now she's telling it to us. xD

She said she's making asam pedas; dekat atas tin biskut. Hahaha. And then she asked me to taste the dish. Bila cakap sedap, dia tersipu sipu malu. Mata berkedip kedip. Ahh~ cuteness overload! xD Tapi masa nak balik, dia nangis nangis nak ikut. :(

On the 6th day of raya, we went to Benut and Rengit to meet Tok Man and Tok Mid. They are my late grandfather's brothers. I forgot take pictures of them. :3

I spent the rest of my day at my grandmother's house. Most of the time, kacau the cousins. ;p I wanted to take a picture of my cousin, Syazril but he refused; I tried to make him turn around so that I can snap a picture of him;

We went back home on Saturday evening, lepas singgah rumah Tok Tim to visit Nek Da (my late grandfather's sister) who was not well. Speaking of home, I have around a week to settle everything before pergi daftar in Shah Alam next week! :O I hope everything goes well, because I'm kinda nervous. Hm.
